What do the different cooking functions do and what is included on each model?
Grill: Grill your foods indoors to create even char, grill marks, and flavour.
Air Crisp: Give your food crispiness and crunch with little to no oil.
Roast: Use the unit to prepare tender meats, roasted vegetables, and more in the cooking pot.
Bake: Use the unit to create cakes, baked treats, and more.

Do I need to preheat the unit? Can I cancel or skip preheating?
For best grilling results, we strongly recommend preheating the Foodi Grill. Depending on the selected temperature setting, it may take up to 8 minutes to preheat. Always wait for the unit to fully preheat before adding food. Adding food before the unit has finished preheating will cause the unit to take longer to come up to temperature and can potentially cause food to overcook.
Does the unit automatically pause when I open it?
Yes, the timer will automatically pause when the hood is opened and then automatically resume after it is closed.
How do I clean the Ninja Foodi Grill?
- Unplug the unit from the wall outlet before cleaning.
- To clean the main unit and the control panel, wipe them clean with a damp cloth.
- The cooking pot, grill grate, crisper basket, splatter shield, and any other accessories can be washed in the dishwasher.
- If food residue is stuck on the grill grate or crisper basket, place them in a sink filled with warm, soapy water and allow to soak.
- Air-dry or towel-dry all parts thoroughly after cleaning.
Should I place ingredients in the unit before or after preheating?
For best results, add ingredients after the unit has preheated.
Do I need to defrost frozen foods before grilling them?
No, you can cook all your favorite ingredients on the Foodi Grill straight from the freezer.
What is GrillControl Technology?
GrillControl Technology allows you to control the temperature of the grill grate for precise cooking and keep smoke out of the kitchen while grilling indoors with our smoke-reduction technology.
How do I install and remove the splatter shield?
To install, gently push the splatter shield into the back of the hood, fitting the tab on the screen with the slot on the back of the hood. Then push the splatter shield upward until it clicks into the clip on the front of the hood.
To remove it, first allow the splatter shield to cool completely. Then use your thumb to release the clip on the front of the hood by pushing the tab upward and using your other hand to pull one of the tabs toward you. This will release the splatter shield, allowing you to pull it out of the ridge along the back of the hood.
What types of food should I cook using the different grill cooking temperatures?
Low 200°C – Bacon, sausages, stuffed peppers, and calzones
Medium 230°# – Batch-cooked chicken in a marinade or sauce
High 260°C – Steaks, chicken, fish, burgers, and hot dogs
Max 265°C – Veggies, fruit, seafood, and pizza
What type of oil should I use while grilling?
We recommend using one of the following oils when grilling: almond oil, avocado oil, canola oil, grape seed oil, or vegetable oil.
Note: Using olive oil will result in a higher smoke output.
